"I was incredibly surprised at the quality of the Irix and can easily say it is an excellent lens. Both of the “Firefly” and “Blackstone” versions are optically and mechanically sound. Their sharpness is fantastic, with distortion and vignetting very well controlled. There are no problems with chromatic aberration, and ghosting and flare are are kept in check. I really hope that TH-Swiss produce more lenses like this in future. The Irix 15mm f2.4 is produced for Canon EF, Nikon F and Pentax K mount." Read full review

"I think a purchase here will really depend on what your intended uses of the lens will be. Since you don't have the option for autofocus, it may be trickier for an events photographer, particularly if you're planning on shooting at wider apertures for such events. But if you're a landscape photographer, particularly if you shoot a lot of night skies or in low light conditions, then this would be a great lens for you. But, when I started putting the Irix 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone Lens up against the comparables, I began to see it in a different light. It is not a perfect lens, and I would especially like to see the wide open corner image quality improved. But for the price, its value is easy to recognize. Getting a weather-sealed aluminum-magnesium lens barrel with decent image quality for a relatively low price puts this lens squarely on the consideration list. I don’t work that often in bad weather, so the extra weather sealing of the front element of the Blackstone is not quite so important.
