Optical PropertiesThe lens is made with the highest quality optics. The entire structure consists of 15 elements arranged in 11 groups (3 HR lenses, 2 ED and 2 ASPs). The precise construction of the lens ensures incredible optical properties and image sharpness, vivid colors and an almost complete absence of distortions, which is an extremely rare property of lenses this wide.
The lens aperture is made of 9 rounded blades, ensuring a pleasant background blur and smooth adjustment of the T value from T2.6 to T22. In addition, lens breathing has been reduced to a minimum.
Functionality and InnovationIrix Cine 15mm T2.6 is equipped with a 180-degree ring that allows accurate rotation and precise and quiet focus pulling. Markings on the lenses are available in metric and imperial versions, meaning users are not forced to change their habits.
An innovative solution used in all Irix Cine lenses is the adaptive ring, which adds to the lens’ overall ergonomics; both in manual sharpening and also when using follow-focus mechanisms. Irix Cine 15mm is small lightweight as well. All Irix cine lenses have approximate dimensions and weight, which allow quick and trouble-free setup changes without needing to overhaul the rest of the film set. The lens is equipped with a magnetic mounting system (MMS), which connects accessories, such as lens hoods (included in the kit).
Ready for any weather conditionsThe solid and durable construction of the Irix Cine 15mm guarantees work in any environment. The lens is sealed in 4 key places, which allows you to work regardless of weather conditions, rain, sand, and dust. Engraved markings on the lens have been filled with paint reacting to UV light, thanks to which filming in difficult lighting conditions becomes much easier. In addition, the lens allows the use of filters, so that work in bright environments becomes much simpler.
Cinema StandardIrix Cine 15mm was designed in accordance with the standards of the professional film industry, being the result of traditional and modern solutions. Irix Cine 15mm has a front filter size of 95mm and Mod 0.8 rings, which ensure compatibility with most accessories available on the market.
