The Irix Edge MMS CPL + Black Mist 1/2 SR filter combines the effect of a polarizing filter and a Black Mist diffusion filter, allowing you to control light reflections while giving the image a subtle cinematic character. The Black Mist layer gently diffuses light and creates a soft halo around bright points while preserving details in darker areas of the image.

The integrated CPL filter reduces reflections on non-metallic surfaces, increases water and glass clarity, and improves color saturation as well as the depth of blue skies. The polarization level can be smoothly adjusted by rotating the filter.

The magnetic Irix Edge MMS mounting system allows quick and convenient attachment of the filter to Irix Cine lenses, while the use of Super Resistant (SR) hardened optical glass ensures high durability and excellent image quality.

Irix Edge VariND 2-5 is a filter specially designed for our revolutionary Magnetic Mount System. Thanks to no screw mount, it became one of the thinnest and lightest Vari ND filters on the market, around 51% slimmer than most available today. With less than 5mm thickness, it’s less than three quarters stacked on each other. That prevents any vignetting, even on the wide lenses.  A no-slip finish on the bottom makes sure the filter will stay in one place while being attached just by magnets.
