The Irix Edge Hard Graduated ND4 filter provides an optical density of 0.6 with a 2 stop reduction of light when hitting the sensor of the camera. It is irreplaceable every time when photographing at a scenery with a hard line of the horizon such as sea or savanna allowing to achieve spectacular effects without the need of using the HDR effect.

When to use a Hard Gradual filter A hard graduated ND filter is most useful when the bright and dark areas of the scene are separated by a clear, fairly straight horizon, such as the sea or an open plain. The short transition lets you reduce brightness in the sky while keeping the foreground largely unaffected.
